其實以前就看過這部電影了

但是我只記得很好看 劇情一點印象都沒有

這次看 就像又看了一部新的電影一樣 (其實記性差的人還滿省錢的 不需要去看新電影)

音樂很棒不用說

而故事本身也相當吸引人

扮演說故事腳色的Max非常重要

他說: You're never really done for, as long as you've got a good story and someone to tell it to.

但是 若沒有說故事的人 有好的故事也沒有用

1900也說 沒有人會記得他 只有Max是特別的 只有他知道他還在船上

就像一般人 Max非常欣賞1900的音樂才華 勸他下船闖出一番新天地

就像一般人 Max相信廣大的世界 總是有自己的容身之處

他說 Sometimes that is the way you have to do it: you go right back to the beginning.

但是 1900不是一般人

雖然他擁有非凡的天份 船上以外的世界 廣大無限到無法掌握

他說 It wasn't what I saw that stopped me Max... it was what I didn't see.
Take piano: keys begin, keys end. You know there are 88 of them. Nobody can tell you any different. They are not infinite. You're infinite... And on those keys, the music that you can make... is infinite. I like that. That I can live by...
他喜歡在有限中 操控無限

但是在無限中 沒有任何可以確定的

You rolled out in front of me a keyboard of millions of keys, millions and billions of keys that never end. And that's the truth Max, that they never end. That keyboard is infinite... and if that keyboard is infinite, then on that keyboard there is no music you can play. You're sitting on the wrong bench... That is God's piano.

很陳腔濫調地

我可以說 1900最終的死 是必要的

新的時代的來臨 代表舊傳統的消失 (so cliche!)

而現代(或後現代) 可能性是無限的

而若少了說故事的人 過去的種種 將不再有人記得

雖然說故事的人 如電影中的Max 仍無法挽救1900的生命

至少 他偷偷將僅有的唱片碎片藏起 待後人能夠分享

而這樣的過去 也真的因此有更多人能夠參與了
